I have a feeling that this message will be a weight off the shoulders of some of you Realtors out there. It’s the kind of confirmation you might have been waiting for.
Let’s get real—not every client is going to be your ideal client. And guess what? That’s completely okay. In this business, we’re not everyone’s cup of tea, and it’s natural that we won’t always click with every person we meet. That’s just how it goes.
But here's where it’s important: never let a client stress you out to the point where you feel unworthy, unhappy, or tense. If you find that a client’s personality doesn’t mesh with yours, it’s okay to acknowledge that. You don’t have to force a relationship just to “make it work.”
I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with working with certain types of clients—like a "driver" client. In fact, I love working with them, and sometimes, I even consider myself a “driver” Realtor. But we all have our unique personalities, and what works well for one agent might not work well for another.
If you thrive under pressure and enjoy the challenge of working with a driven client, that’s fantastic. But if you find yourself overwhelmed and unhappy, it’s perfectly fine to step back and recognize that not every client is the right fit for you. And guess what? That doesn’t make you any less of a great agent.
Remember, knowing your worth and setting healthy boundaries is key to maintaining your well-being in this business.
